About Paul
Politics makes more sense when someone stops pretending it is simple.
I have taught Politics for more than two decades, led sixth forms and Politics departments and examined for Edexcel. Before teaching, I studied PPE at Oxford and worked in international finance.
Why Paul Talks Politics?
Students are often taught the right facts but not the argument that gives those facts meaning. They can describe Parliament, federalism or liberalism, yet still struggle to answer the question in front of them.
My teaching begins with structure. What is the claim? What would prove it? What would weaken it? Which factor matters most, and under what conditions?
The result should be better exam performance. More importantly, it should be a better understanding of politics itself.
